An exciting contract opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Specialist to join the Procurement Operations team. Procurement Specialist will play a critical role in supporting the Procurement Operations team by managing sourcing activities, vendor engagement, and procurement processes across multiple categories. This seasoned professional will analyze global market trends, recommend sourcing strategies, and ensure timely and cost effective procurement of goods and services. The role spans strategic and operational responsibilities, including contract negotiation, supplier management, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the liaison between business stakeholders and suppliers/vendors.
- Source and vet suppliers, negotiate contracts, and present recommendations to decision-makers.
- Review and process requisitions to ensure timely order submission; negotiate costs, delivery schedules, and contract terms.
- Conduct cost-benefit analysis and evaluate comparative costs submitted during RFP processes.
- Monitor and update item, commodity, and supplier data in procurement systems (ERP/PO software).
- Agree pricing and performance standards through supplier contracts; inspect and test samples to inform purchasing decisions.
- Document costs for assigned vendors and generate monthly cost reports for stakeholders.
- Recommend sourcing strategies to leadership and execute tactical and strategic initiatives.
- Track market trends and maintain efficient flow of procurement-related information.
- Prepare cost-saving program recommendations and identify new suppliers.
- Support supplier qualification and evaluation processes; assist in supplier management activities.
- Create and release purchase orders in ERP systems as needed.
- Ensure quality checks on purchase requisitions for completeness and accuracy.
- Promote and administer e-catalogues; support implementation and rollout of procurement strategies.
- Monitor order fulfillment against purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on procurement-related projects.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelorβs degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Professional certifications preferred (e.g., CIPS, CSCP, CPIM).
- Fluent in English and German.
Experience
- Extensive experience in procurement/purchasing operations.
- Strong background in cost-benefit analysis and strategic sourcing.
- Proficient in procurement systems for PO management, supplier information, and contract administration.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and availability.
Skills & Attributes
- Technical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with tools such as PowerBI, SpendHQ, Gartner, Forrester.
