Purpose of the role
The Project Manager leads the planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects that support strategic, regulatory, and operational objectives across the organisation. This role is responsible for managing end‑to‑end project lifecycles, ensuring clear governance, engaged stakeholders, and effective risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Define project scope, governance structures, delivery plans, milestones, resource requirements, and success measures.
- Proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, and change control, ensuring appropriate escalation and mitigation.
- Produce high‑quality documentation including business cases, project plans, RAID logs, steering packs, and progress updates.
- Facilitate project ceremonies—kick‑offs, stand‑ups, workshops, steering committees—and ensure clear, actionable outputs.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams such as Technology, Compliance, Operations, Risk, Legal, and Finance to deliver project objectives.
- Engage senior stakeholders, providing clear, concise communication tailored to different audiences.
- Oversee vendor, partner, or third‑party contributions where relevant, ensuring contractual and delivery alignment.
- Support organisational change activities, including communications, training, user adoption, and readiness planning.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of project delivery frameworks, reporting standards, and governance practices.
Skills And Experience
- Proven experience delivering projects within financial services or a similarly regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid), governance practices, and project controls.
- Experience producing robust project documentation and operating within structured governance environments.
- Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, build business cases, and support informed decision‑making.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and project tools such as MS Project, JIRA, Planner, or Azure DevOps.
- Demonstrable experience managing cross‑functional teams and coordinating stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Professional certifications such as APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner, Scrum Master, or AgilePM are advantageous.
