PURPOSE OF ROLE:
We’re seeking a Design Operations Lead to help scale and support our UX team’s growth, efficiency, and impact. In this role, you\'ll report to the UX Operations Manager and work closely with the Design System Lead to streamline the Design System’s governance and adoption, while driving operational excellence across the broader design organisation.
This is a hybrid role, one part system enabler, one part program lead ensuring our tools, processes, and workflows empower designers to deliver consistent, high-quality work at scale.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Design System Lead to operationalise system workflows, governance, and contributor enablement.
- Support rollout, adoption, and usage tracking of design system components across teams.
- Coordinate feedback loops, documentation, and change management processes for system updates.
- Help prioritize system-related workstreams based on org needs and stakeholder input.
- Maintain alignment between design and engineering teams on system goals and timelines.
- Actively contribute as a member of our dedicated Design System squad, working closely with Product and Engineering to aid the delivery of the next stage of our Design System.
- Partner with the UX Operations Manager to shape and maintain efficient team workflows, rituals, and practices.
- Drive planning, coordination, and delivery of design programs, cross-functional initiatives, and team priorities.
- Improve operational tooling and infrastructure—maintaining Figma libraries, documentation, issue-tracking tools (e.g., Jira), and dashboards.
- Champion consistency and documentation across the UX team ensuring shared knowledge is accessible, up to date, and scalable.
- Providing line management, coaching and mentorship for 1-2 direct reports.
Skills & Experience Required:
- A strong background in UX/Product Design, UX Program Management, or similar roles in a product or design organisation.
- Deep understanding of end-to-end product design workflows, tools (Figma, Notion, Jira, etc.), and cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience supporting or managing Design Systems in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong design thinking skills with a pragmatic approach to iteration, experimentation and research.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and facilitation skills—able to manage details while keeping big-picture goals in mind.
- Comfort working across multiple projects, stakeholders, and levels of ambiguity.
