Purpose of Role

The UK Corporate Actions team forms part of the wider Corporate Actions department within Operations. The team is well‑established and continues to develop as a highly efficient and high‑performing function, delivering first‑class service to our customers through strong control, automation, and a focus on people. We are now seeking a dynamic and driven Team Manager to continue this progression and support the next phase of our growth.

The UK Corporate Actions Team Manager is responsible for leading, coaching and developing the team to deliver high‑quality, regulatory‑compliant processing of all corporate action and dividend events. The role is accountable for ensuring service levels are consistently achieved, operational risk is effectively managed, and a robust control environment is maintained. The Team Manager will champion excellent customer outcomes and support wider departmental initiatives, including deputising for the Operations Manager and contributing to key projects and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high performing teams and individuals in a regulated, high risk, deadline driven environment.
  • Clearly communicate company, departmental and operational goals and expectations.
  • Motivate and engage the team, ensuring capability, competence and technical proficiency are continuously assessed, maintained and improved.
  • Enhance team efficiency through effective resource planning, skills management, succession planning and agile work allocation.
  • Own and develop training for both new and existing team members, identifying opportunities to strengthen Corporate Actions knowledge and develop individual’s skills.
  • Ensure timely handling of internal and external queries, including secure messages, telephone calls, emails, escalations and complaint investigations.
  • Act as part of the Operations leadership team, help to shape, lead and implement both short and long term operational strategies and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver operational efficiencies, and build an empowered and motivated team.
  • Keep the Operations Manager fully informed of team performance, risk exposure, resourcing challenges and the team’s readiness to respond to operational, regulatory or market driven change.
  • Maintain the first line of risk defence, ensuring risk events are identified and logged in a timely manner, as well as driving remediation of risks, incidents, and process weaknesses; ensure timely completion of corrective actions and continuous improvement to reduce exposure.
  • Maintain the first line of compliance defence, ensuring adherence to processes designed to meet FCA and internal standards, with specific focus on CASS, MiFID, CRS, and Consumer Duty.
  • Build and maintain relations internally in ii and externally across key partners to drive the success of the business.
  • Provide oversight and sign off for complex events, high value elections, system testing and process change, acting as an escalation point for complex or sensitive operational issues, ensuring timely and customer focused resolutions.
  • Support operational projects and system enhancements, ensuring procedures and documentation remain accurate, up to date and aligned with regulatory and audit expectations.
  • Deputise for the Operations Manager as required, supporting wider leadership responsibilities, forums and decision making.

Skills and Requirements

  • Proven leadership capability with experience developing high performing teams in a high risk operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of FCA regulatory requirements, including CASS, MiFID, CRS, Consumer Duty and Market Abuse.
  • Proven ability to improve team performance through coaching, feedback, KPIs, quality frameworks and structured development.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex information clearly across multiple audiences.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, supporting the wider Operations leadership team.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills, able to work confidently with internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
  • Proven ability to identify root causes, implement corrective action and embed improvements to processes, systems and controls.
  • Comfortable working under pressure with the ability to organise and prioritise workloads across time critical deadlines.
  • Strong ability to manage operational risk, departmental processes and resources effectively.
  • Confident analysing and interpreting operational and MI data, with the ability to use Excel, Power BI and other tools to inform decisions and drive improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate actions event types, market infrastructure, taxation and settlement processes.
