Purpose of the role: ii advice is redefining the UK financial planning landscape. By combining human expertise with smart digital tools, we provide a modern, transparent and client‑centred advice experience. We are offering a unique 10‑month internship for a motivated university student who wants hands‑on experience inside a disruptive, fast‑growing financial planning business.
As a Financial Planning Intern, you will work across key parts of the business—supporting day‑to‑day operations while contributing to a meaningful project that directly impacts ii advice’s growth and delivery of client value. You will gain exposure to the Support team, the Customer Relationship team, and the Adviser team, while also working closely with our wider proposition and compliance functions.
This role is designed to give you real responsibility, real experience, and a genuine understanding of how a modern advice business operates. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in financial planning, fintech, consulting, data, or client experience design.
Business Experience & Team Rotation
- Support operational and administrative processes that enable a smooth client journey
- Help prepare client materials and support the Customer Relationship team
- Shadow Financial Planners and observe parts of the client advice process
- Work with digital tools, workflows, and financial planning systems to understand how ii advice delivers advice at scale
Meaningful Project Work
Across your placement, you will be responsible for leading or contributing to a structured project that could include areas such as:
- Improving the digital client journey
- Analysing client behaviours, data, or trends to support proposition enhancements
- Building components of our financial education or content strategy
- Supporting internal process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Contributing to a compliance, technology, or operations initiative
Your project will have clear objectives, guidance from a mentor, and real‑world impact on how ii advice evolves.
Exposure Across the Business
- Work with the Proposition team to understand how new digital features and services are developed
- Learn from the Compliance function about the regulatory environment of UK financial advice
- Attend internal meetings, planning sessions, and innovation workshops
- Contribute to ongoing initiatives aimed at disrupting the UK financial planning market

- To be eligible to work in the UK
- To be over 18 years old as of 1st September 2026
- To be a 2nd year student in a full‑time undergraduate degree with an industry placement year, in a subject relevant to this role
- To have achieved a minimum of 104 UCAS points at A‑level (grades BCC) or an equivalent (e.g., BTEC DMM) qualification
- Mathematics and English GCSE (or equivalent) grades A* to C (new grades 9 to 4)
