About the role

Due to significant business growth, IBKR is looking to hire a number of additional Trade Surveillance Analysts in any of its offices in Budapest, Dublin or London. These Analysts will review trading activity of the firm’s customers to identify potential breaches of market abuse rules or market-related financial crime. IBKR has established a proprietary surveillance capability, leveraging its historical proprietary trading background. The IBKR surveillance roles, therefore, offer interesting work and challenges, as well as opportunities for deep dive investigations versus the mass false positive alert processing roles offered in many financial institutions.

If you are motivated, have strong initiative, and are analytical and methodical, we can offer you a position that will both challenge and reward you while you become part of a team that is one of the world’s strongest brokerage brands.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct trade surveillance monitoring of client activity on EEA markets for potential insider dealing or market manipulation.
  • Ensuring appropriate and timely alert management, following standards for closure or escalation.
  • Documenting surveillance reviews, investigations, and other activities following guidelines.
  • Assisting with the ongoing design, development and calibration of alert reports and systems to help identify potential suspicious behaviour.
  • Preparing STORs for submission to FCA or CBI.
  • Assisting with written responses to inquiries from the FCA, CBI, other European regulators or trading venues regarding IBKR client activity.
  • Liaising with global colleagues to ensure all impacted IBKR entities are informed of suspicious activity.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in trade surveillance or other trade-related role preferred, or with prior quantitative knowledge of financial markets.
  • Strong product knowledge of equity or exchange-traded derivative markets, or, preferably, both.
  • Solid academic background.
  • Solid knowledge of the different types of market abuse.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a small team and fast-paced environment, and to work independently and multitask with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills.

Location and hours:

20 Fenchurch Street, London, EC3M 3BY

9 am – 6 pm, Monday–Friday (Hybrid model)

Benefits:

  • Career support and development
  • Salary commensurate with experience
  • Performance-based discretionary cash bonus scheme
  • Discretionary stock grant
  • Group Life Assurance cover
  • Group Income Protection
  • Occupation pension scheme based on Gross earnings
