We seek a motivated and talented attorney with experience in financial services retail work and familiarity with securities and broker-dealer issues. The legal counsel will be involved in a wide range of matters including drafting of contractual documentation and policy documents, leading the negotiation of framework agreements regulating the access of institutional clients to the IBKR platform, drafting intercompany and third party arrangements governing execution, clearing and custody services, assisting with a variety of legal issues related to the on-boarding and life cycle of client accounts, including, where required, researching and drafting replies to complex client complaints. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Excel and PowerPoint and can interrogate internal databases and instruct software developers. The legal counsel will sit within the European legal team, which supports the business of Interactive Brokers in the U.We currently operate a hybrid working model in one of the most iconic City of London towers on Fenchurch Street. You will be pleased to hear we offer lunch from a selection of vendors every day you are in the office. Assist with the launch of new account types and new product offerings. Carry out annual reviews of customer-facing documentation and account applications. Assist with interacting with the developers when required to change customer documentation, sections of the website and delivery or client communications. Summarise legal advice and document legal projects. Advise on account life events (such as incapacities, estates, insolvencies, account freezes or closures). Research legal topics and draft legal memos on legal and regulatory requirements applicable to existing and new lines of business. A UK-qualified solicitor with significant experience (ideally at least 7 years of experience) at a law firm, financial institution, financial services regulatory agency, exchange or EU/US authorised broker-dealer. Solid academic background. Excellent command of English. Distinct ability to establish, document and operationalise legal processes. Practical and flexible approach to work.
