Job Overview
We are currently recruiting a reliable and experienced Dust Cart Driver to operate refuse collection vehicles based in Watford. This role involves driving and assisting with household and commercial waste collections while working as part of a crew in a public-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a dust cart vehicle in residential and commercial areas.
- Work alongside loaders to complete scheduled collection routes efficiently.
- Assist with loading duties when required.
- Carry out daily vehicle safety and defect checks.
- Ensure compliance with road traffic laws, health & safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Maintain a professional and courteous manner when dealing with members of the public.
- Report any vehicle defects, incidents, or route issues promptly.
- Keep the vehicle clean and presentable.
Requirements
- Valid Class 2 (C) licence (Class 1 drivers also welcome).
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- No more than 6 penalty points.
- Previous dust cart or refuse collection experience preferred but not essential.
- Physically fit and able to assist with loading duties.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
