We are working with a well-regarded secondary school in Basildon seeking a dedicated General Science Teacher to join their team from January to cover a maternity leave. This is an excellent long-term opportunity to teach across KS3–KS4 within a supportive and forward-thinking science department.
Role Overview:
- Teach General Science across KS3–KS4 following the school's curriculum
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that support progress and scientific curiosity
- Assess and monitor attainment, providing constructive feedback and targeted interventions
- Contribute to departmental planning and enrichment activities
- Maintain a positive classroom environment that promotes learning and high expectations
About You:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching General Science at secondary level
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Organised, adaptable, and committed to raising attainment
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
