Overview
Learning Support Assistant (Primary) – Specialist Education Setting | Term-Time Only
The Role
- Supporting pupils in small class groups (8–13 learners)
- Assisting with early literacy, numeracy, PSHE, and life skills
- Helping children communicate using signs, symbols, Makaton, or communication aids
- Providing emotional reassurance and behaviour support during periods of anxiety or dysregulation
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Some pupils may require personal care — full training is provided
Training & Development
- Fully funded Teaching Assistant apprenticeship qualification
- Twice-weekly training sessions combining theory and hands-on practice
- Positive Behaviour Support / Team Teach training included
- Ongoing mentoring and professional development
What We’re Looking For
