The Role
Based at the Wellingborough site, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a range of forklift trucks and plant machinery within a workshop environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing faults, carrying out servicing, and completing repairs on forklift and plant equipment
- Conducting pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new and used machinery
- Carrying out mechanical and electrical fault finding
- Working on key systems including:
- Engines
- Batteries
- Hydraulics
- Pneumatics
- Reconditioning and preparing equipment for hire or resale
- Completing job sheets and service records accurately
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working in the plant, agricultural, HGV or material handling industries (essential)
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical systems (essential)
- Experience with engines and battery-powered equipment
- Solid fault finding, service, and repair skills
- NVQ / City & Guilds in mechanical/electrical engineering (advantageous)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
