We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a reliable and hardworking Welder's Mate to support their busy fabrication and welding team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a workshop or engineering environment who is looking to develop their skills and build a long-term career within the industry.
The Role
- Working alongside experienced welders and fabricators, your duties will include:
- Assisting welders with preparation and assembly work
- Grinding, fettling and cleaning welded components
- Measuring, marking out and preparing materials
- Loading and unloading materials and finished products
- Operating hand and power tools safely
- Maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment
- Supporting general fabrication and workshop activities
- Adhering to health and safety procedures at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering, fabrication or welding environment
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Welding or fabrication knowledge would be advantageous but is not essential
