We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a reliable and hardworking Welder's Mate to support their busy fabrication and welding team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a workshop or engineering environment who is looking to develop their skills and build a long-term career within the industry.

The Role

  • Working alongside experienced welders and fabricators, your duties will include:
  • Assisting welders with preparation and assembly work
  • Grinding, fettling and cleaning welded components
  • Measuring, marking out and preparing materials
  • Loading and unloading materials and finished products
  • Operating hand and power tools safely
  • Maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment
  • Supporting general fabrication and workshop activities
  • Adhering to health and safety procedures at all times

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering, fabrication or welding environment
  • Ability to use hand and power tools
  • Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Welding or fabrication knowledge would be advantageous but is not essential
