Our client, a commercial removals company based in the G41 area of Glasgow, is currently looking for experienced Warehouse and removal porters to work on an ongoing basis. With this position, you will be assisting and supporting in the warehouse/out in the field, dealing with loading and unloading of commercial goods and effects. This entails lifting office and commercial furniture and boxes either from a container or vehicle.

Key Tasks

  • To ensure all customers' personal effects are packed and handled correctly.
  • Where storage is required, all goods received into the warehouse are correctly stored in a safe manner.
  • Where necessary, export wrap personal effects to the required standard and pack into bespoke packing crates/cases.
  • All work to be carried out in a safe and timely fashion.
  • For export relocations, ensure all customers' personal effects are correctly labelled prior to leaving their residence or warehouse and all necessary paperwork has been completed prior to returning to the office.
  • Ensure the condition of goods when collected/delivered are accurately recorded and all items are correctly detailed on inventories.
  • Correct vehicle loading and unloading.
  • To assist with storage container loading and unloading.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean and tidy working environment, including yard area, and the safe and correct disposal of packaging debris.
  • Ensure vehicles are always clean and tidy and transit blankets are correctly folded and placed neatly either in containers or in the vehicle.
