Role Overview

As Warehouse & Forklift Operator you will play a critical role in our clients operations: ensuring the smooth movement, storage and dispatch of raw materials and finished product in the warehouse. You’ll operate forklifts safely, maintain stock accuracy, assist in loading/unloading deliveries and help keep the warehouse environment organised and compliant with food-safety and health & safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklift trucks (reach, counter-balance) to move, stack and retrieve materials.
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles, checking documentation and condition of goods.
  • Receive incoming goods, verify quantities, inspect for damage and log into warehouse system.
  • Pick, pack and prepare outbound orders for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment (housekeeping, waste disposal, hazard reporting).
  • Support stock-takes and cycle counts; assist with stock reconciliation and resolving discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with production, quality and logistics teams to meet daily schedules and targets.
  • Adhere to food hygiene, quality and safety policies (including GMP, hygiene zones, PPE).

Requirements

  • Valid forklift licence / certificate (reach & counter-balance) preferred; training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment, ideally in food manufacturing or ingredients sector.
  • Good organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills; ability to use warehouse IT systems or scanners.
  • Ability to lift/move materials (up to relevant weight limits), stand/walk for long periods and work in a busy warehouse setting.
  • Strong team-player with a positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Flexibility to work shifts times as required.
