This is a hands‑on coordination role where you will be responsible for managing engineers, organising their schedules and allocating jobs across a range of industrial and commercial sites.

You will need to be comfortable working in a reactive environment, managing changing priorities and making sure engineers are in the right place, at the right time, with the right information.

You will coordinate three key areas of the business: PPM (planned preventative maintenance), reactive service and installations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond quickly to urgent jobs and changing client requirements, regularly rescheduling engineers when priorities change.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing professional, proactive and timely updates.
  • Coordinate reactive repairs from initial client call through to engineer attendance and completion.
  • Plan and schedule PPM works, ensuring maintenance is completed within agreed timescales.
  • Coordinate installation works, including site surveys, quotations, purchasing and subcontractor requirements.
  • Liaise closely with engineers to ensure they have the correct job details, parts, equipment and access information.
  • Coordinate suppliers and subcontractors where required.
  • Monitor outstanding jobs and ensure works are completed and closed down correctly.
  • Work closely with the sales and purchasing teams to ensure a smooth service from quotation through to completion.
  • Maintain accurate records of jobs, engineer activity and client requirements.
  • Manage competing priorities while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Ensure work is delivered efficiently and with commercial awareness, protecting margins wherever possible.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who has previous experience coordinating or scheduling engineers.

You must be confident managing multiple engineers and their diaries, allocating jobs and dealing with last‑minute changes in a busy service environment.

You will ideally have

  • Proven experience in engineering, field service, maintenance or technical scheduling.
  • Experience managing engineer workloads, diaries and job allocation.
  • Experience scheduling engineers to customer sites, ideally within an industrial, commercial, facilities, engineering or maintenance environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Experience working in a reactive, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with both engineers and customers.
