The Role
As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating multi-axis CNC turning centres to produce complex, high-precision components.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Programming, setting and operating CNC multi-axis turning centres
- Manufacturing precision components to engineering drawings, CAD models and customer specifications
- Operating Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes to achieve high levels of productivity and quality
- Carrying out offline programming using Hypermill, as well as making programme adjustments where required
- Machining a variety of challenging materials, including stainless steel, titanium,
- Inconel, aerospace alloys and other exotic materials
- Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections to ensure components meet strict quality standards and tight tolerances
- Operating multiple machines where required to maximise production efficiencyCompleting production documentation and maintaining accurate manufacturing records
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the machining department
- Maintaining high standards of quality, health & safety and manufacturing procedures
About You
The successful candidate will have previous experience working as a CNC Turner Programmer/Setter/Operator within a precision engineering environment.
You will ideally have:
- Strong experience programming and setting multi-axis CNC lathes with Fanuc controls
- Proven experience with Hypermill offline programming
- A strong background in manufacturing complex, precision-machined components to tight tolerances
- Experience machining aerospace alloys, titanium, Inconel, stainless steel and other exotic materials would be highly advantageous
- The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Experience carrying out manual inspection and quality control procedures
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- A flexible, motivated and quality-focused approach
- A genuine passion for precision engineering and producing high-quality work
