We are supporting a high-performing secondary school in Chelmsford looking for an enthusiastic General Science Teacher to cover a maternity leave from January. This role provides an excellent opportunity to inspire students and contribute to a strong, well-resourced science faculty.

Role Overview:

  • Teach General Science across KS3–KS4 following departmental schemes of work
  • Deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that foster scientific understanding
  • Track and assess student progress, providing targeted support when needed
  • Participate in departmental planning, meetings, and enrichment activities
  • Maintain high standards for behaviour, participation, and academic progress

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching General Science at secondary level
  • Confident classroom management and effective communication skills
  • Passionate, motivated, and committed to student achievement
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
