Position: Removals Driver / Porter Location: St Neots Reports to: Removals Supervisor/Manager Overview: A Removals Porter is responsible for assisting with the safe and efficient transportation of household or office goods during removals. This involves packing, loading, unloading, and handling furniture and personal belongings with care while ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining safety standards at all times. Key Responsibilities: · Packing and Unpacking: Assist with carefully packing belongings into boxes, wrapping fragile items, and unloading goods at the destination. · Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload items from vehicles, ensuring the safe handling of furniture and possessions. · Transportation Support: Driving a 3.5T vehicle ensuring goods are transported securely to the destination. · Handling Fragile Items: Use appropriate methods for handling delicate or valuable items, ensuring they are well-protected during transit. · Customer Interaction: Provide courteous, professional service to clients, ensuring their belongings are handled with care and the moving process runs smoothly. · Teamwork: Work effectively as part of a team to meet deadlines and customer expectations. · Health and Safety: Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed, including the correct lifting techniques and the use of equipment such as trolleys and straps. · Equipment Handling: Operate moving equipment and vehicles safely and report any maintenance needs or issues to supervisors. · Vehicle Maintenance: Assist in keeping the moving vehicles clean and organized.
