We are recruiting a Refuse Loader with a valid 7.5T (C1) licence to join a growing waste management company in Sevenoaks. This is a hands-on refuse collection role, with the majority of your time spent working as part of a refuse collection crew. You will also be required to drive the 7.5T vehicle when the regular driver is off or cover is needed. Please note: this is primarily a refuse loading role, not a full-time driving position. You must be comfortable and happy carrying out refuse loading duties on a regular basis.
What's in it for you?
- £15.00 per hour – whether loading or driving
- Weekly pay
- Monday–Friday, 7am–3pm
- Immediate starts available following a paid induction
- Optional weekend overtime available
- Temp-to-perm opportunity
- Supportive team environment
- Ongoing training and development
The Role
As a Refuse Loader / 7.5T Driver, you will work as part of a waste collection crew, carrying out residential and commercial refuse collections throughout the local area. Your main responsibility will be refuse loading, which involves a lot of walking and physical activity. You will be required to pull bins to the vehicle, empty them safely, and return them to their collection point. When the regular driver is on holiday, off sick, or otherwise unavailable, you will provide driving cover using the 7.5T vehicle.
Your duties will include:
- Loading refuse and recycling from residential and commercial properties
- Pulling and moving bins to the refuse vehicle
- Walking significant distances throughout the working day
- Working as part of a collection crew
- Driving the 7.5T vehicle when required to provide driver cover
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks when driving
- Working safely and following all health and safety procedures
- Providing a professional service to customers and members of the public
What We're Looking For
- Valid Category C1 (7.5T) Licence
- Driver CPC Qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Physically fit and able to carry out a manual, active role
- Comfortable with lots of walking and pulling/moving heavy bins
- Happy to spend the majority of the working week loading refuse
- Willing and able to provide occasional 7.5T driving cover
- Reliable and professional approach to work
- Good communication skills
- Previous refuse collection/loading or 7.5T driving experience is advantageous
Important
This is a refuse loading role with occasional 7.5T driving – not a 7.5T driving job with loading on the side. You will be paid £15.00 per hour for all hours worked, whether you are loading refuse or driving the vehicle. If you're physically fit, hold a C1 licence, and are looking for stable Monday–Friday work with the opportunity to use your driving licence when cover is required, we'd love to hear from you.
