Hours: Monday – Friday, 07:00 – 16:00

The Role

As a Workshop/Mobile Plant Fitter, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of construction plant equipment ranging from 9–70 tonne. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding quickly to machinery breakdowns, carrying out mechanical and hydraulic repairs
  • Performing planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) on excavators, dumpers, dozers, rollers and other heavy plant
  • Fault finding and diagnosing issues across engines, hydraulics, transmissions and electrical systems
  • Completing service reports, inspection paperwork and maintaining accurate records
  • Travelling to customer sites as required to support breakdown and repair work
  • Maintaining cleanliness, organisation and stock control within the workshop

What We’re Looking For

  • Background as a Plant Fitter, Plant Engineer, Heavy Plant Technician or similar
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with construction or heavy plant machinery
  • Strong understanding of hydraulics, diesel engines, electrical systems and diagnostics
  • Relevant industry qualifications (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / Apprenticeship or equivalent)
  • Ability to work independently on both workshop and mobile tasks
  • Full UK Driving Licence
