The Role
As a Workshop/Mobile Plant Fitter, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of construction plant equipment ranging from 9β70 tonne. Your responsibilities will include:
- Responding quickly to machinery breakdowns, carrying out mechanical and hydraulic repairs
- Performing planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) on excavators, dumpers, dozers, rollers and other heavy plant
- Fault finding and diagnosing issues across engines, hydraulics, transmissions and electrical systems
- Completing service reports, inspection paperwork and maintaining accurate records
- Travelling to customer sites as required to support breakdown and repair work
- Maintaining cleanliness, organisation and stock control within the workshop
What Weβre Looking For
- Background as a Plant Fitter, Plant Engineer, Heavy Plant Technician or similar
- Minimum 3 yearsβ experience working with construction or heavy plant machinery
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, diesel engines, electrical systems and diagnostics
- Relevant industry qualifications (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / Apprenticeship or equivalent)
- Ability to work independently on both workshop and mobile tasks
- Full UK Driving Licence
