Overview
Working in a factory environment, you will test, measure, and monitor product quality, ensuring processes and standards are consistently met while supporting continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspections and tests on materials and products.
- Ensure flexible packaging meets quality standards (seal strength, print quality, barrier properties, dimensions, etc.).
- Use quality testing tools such as micrometers, callipers, seal testers, COF testers, ovens, and tensile testers.
- Record and analyse data, keeping accurate quality documentation.
- Support investigations into non-conformances and customer complaints.
- Assist with root-cause analysis, CAPA, and audit activities.
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment.
- Promote quality, safety, and GMP/ISO/HACCP compliance.
- Maintain a tidy QC area and uphold BRCGS standards.
- Report maintenance issues and ensure smooth shift handovers.
- Meet daily production and quality targets.
- Follow all company and Health & Safety procedures.
- Attend required training and complete other reasonable tasks.
Skills & Experience
- QC experience desirable but not essential.
- Experience with BRCGS environments and materials (films, laminates, etc.) preferred.
- Knowledge of lamination, slitting, and print testing is beneficial.
- Basic maths and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Strong communication, timekeeping, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions.
- Proactive, reliable, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
