About the role
You will work in a physical testing laboratory, carrying out routine testing on footwear, footwear materials, and components. The role requires accurate, safe work in line with recognised standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate standard laboratory equipment in accordance with Health & Safety procedures and test methods.
- Conduct physical testing of footwear, materials, and components.
- Support laboratory and store maintenance and general upkeep.
- Maintain personal training records and comply with UKAS requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement within the laboratory.
- Work to deadlines while producing accurate, detailed test results.
About you
You will be organised, reliable, and comfortable working in a structured, technical environment. You will work both independently and as part of a collaborative laboratory team.
Essential Requirements
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English and Science (NVQ Level 3).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A flexible, positive and proactive ‘can‑do’ attitude.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in a physical testing or laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of footwear construction and materials.
- Full training will be provided – no prior footwear testing experience is required.
