Street Scene General Operatives – Cambridge City Council Location: Cambridge City Centre & Residential Areas Hours: Monday to Friday, approximately 11:00am/12:00pm – 7:00pm Position: Temporary – Ongoing Pay: £13.90 per hour Enhanced rate: 5:00pm – 7:00pm (enhanced rate TBC) We are currently recruiting Street Scene General Operatives to support Cambridge City Council in keeping the city centre and residential areas clean, tidy and looking their best. We are looking for both Drivers and Non-Drivers. The Council requires a minimum of 2 Drivers and 2 Non-Drivers, with Drivers being prioritised for the available positions. The Role Your duties will include: Litter picking across the city centre and residential areas Pressure washing Weeding General street cleaning Keeping public areas clean and tidy Carrying out general outdoor cleaning duties as required What We're Looking For We are looking for people who are: Reliable and hardworking Able to work with little supervision Trusted to complete tasks to a high standard Punctual and dependable Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Able to demonstrate a strong work ethic Happy to carry out physical, outdoor work Drivers are particularly encouraged to apply and will be prioritised for the available positions. Pay & Hours £13.90 per hour standard rate Enhanced rate from 5:00pm – 7:00pm (rate TBC) Monday to Friday Approximately 11:00am/12:00pm – 7:00pm Temporary, ongoing work The duration of the assignment will be reviewed month by month, with updates provided regarding the ongoing availability of the work.
