Interaction Recruitment is looking for a Permanent Recruitment Consultant to join our Midlands Hub, based in Milton Keynes and covering permanent recruitment across Milton Keynes, Northampton & the surrounding areas. This is a full 360-degree recruitment role offering a broad geographical remit, autonomy over your market & the support of an established national recruitment business.
You will manage the full permanent recruitment process, from identifying new business opportunities through to candidate attraction, interviews, offers & successful placements. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing permanent recruitment business across Milton Keynes & Northampton
- Identifying prospective clients through telephone, email, networking & local market research
- Arranging & attending client meetings
- Developing long-term relationships with new & existing customers
- Taking detailed vacancy briefs
- Advising clients on candidate availability, salaries & local market conditions
- Advertising vacancies through job boards, social media & recruitment platforms
- Sourcing candidates through databases, networking, referrals & direct approaches
- Interviewing candidates & assessing their suitability
- Preparing candidate profiles, shortlists & speculative introductions
- Managing interviews, feedback, offers, counteroffers & start dates
- Maintaining regular contact with placed candidates & clients
- Working towards agreed revenue, activity & placement targets
- Collaborating with colleagues across the Midlands Hub & Interaction’s wider network
The desk will cover permanent recruitment across both Milton Keynes & Northampton, providing a wider geographical market in which to develop client relationships & candidate networks.
Previous recruitment experience is preferred, although applicants with strong business development, account-management or relevant sales experience may also be considered. You should have:
- Experience within permanent recruitment or business development
- The confidence to open new client relationships
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- A professional, consultative approach
- Good organisation & time-management skills
- The ability to manage several vacancies simultaneously
- A strong understanding of candidate attraction
- The motivation to develop a profitable recruitment desk
- A full UK driving licence & access to a vehicle
- Knowledge of the Milton Keynes or Northampton recruitment market would be advantageous.
