We are working with a welcoming secondary school in Luton seeking an inspirational and dedicated Head of Music to lead their thriving department. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious teacher and leader to inspire students through engaging and creative lessons while driving excellence in music education across KS3–KS5.
Role Overview:
- Teach Music across KS3–KS5
- Lead and develop the Music department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
- Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons
- Organise and promote extracurricular music activities, performances, and events
- Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise achievement
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment
About You:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching Music at secondary level
- Previous leadership experience or readiness to step into a leadership role
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
- Passionate about high-quality teaching and student achievement
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
