Role Overview
We have an opportunity for an internal candidate to join the Linehaul Operations team on a temporary basis. The role is responsible for supporting daily operational activities, driver coordination, fleet management, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assigning drivers and vehicles to scheduled linehaul runs and ad-hoc extra movements
- Printing scan sheets, run plans, and driver instructions (including agency drivers)
- Reporting and logging tyre defects on trucks and trailers
- Requesting agency cover for holidays, sickness, and additional collections
- Producing and managing the daily VOR report and overseeing fleet maintenance activity
- Liaising with the fleet maintenance team and third-party providers for servicing and repairs
- Downloading vehicles and updating system records
- Building and amending tours using ROCS
- Communicating throughout the day with drivers, providing updates to runs and changes as required
- Dispatching and debriefing drivers
- Uniform ordering
- Liaising with planning and scheduling teams for weekend and bank holiday tours
- Conducting agency inductions
- Managing email communications between stations, hubs, customers, and sales account managers
- Dealing with vehicle breakdowns and operational disruptions if you have experience in this role
