We are looking for a commercially minded Business Development Manager with experience in quantitative and qualitative market research to drive our UK-wide growth strategy. This is a pivotal role where you will take ownership of expanding our national presence and securing new clients across a wide range of consumer markets.
The Purpose of the Role
Your primary goal will be to expand and grow the UK marketplace, securing new clients nationally who are looking for high-quality market research solutions. You will play a key role in shaping our commercial footprint and elevating our brand across multiple fast-moving industries.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Identifying and converting new business opportunities across the UK
- Promoting our quantitative and qualitative research capabilities to new and existing clients
- Building strong relationships with brands in home products, FMCG, baby products, skincare, healthcare, and other consumer sectors
- Leading client meetings, presentations, and pitches (national travel as required)
- Working closely with research teams to deliver tailored proposals
- Managing a strong pipeline and accurate forecasting
- Attending national industry events, exhibitions, and conferences
- Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities
About You
- Proven business development experience within market research (quant & qual)
- Understanding of major consumer sectors including FMCG, homeware, baby/parenting, skincare, healthcare, and wellness
- Confidence in client-facing situations and presenting at all levels
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation skills
- A proactive approach and passion for new business growth
- Ability to work from the Leeds office, with national travel when required
Salary & Package
- £38,000 – £60,000 basic salary
- Commission scheme
- Entire package negotiable based on skills, experience, and market expertise
- 33 days holiday including bank holidays. Plus:
- Up to 5 additional loyalty holiday days rewarded after years of service
- Birthday holiday
- Additional 3 days for closure over Christmas
Location & Territory
Office-based in Leeds, LS8. National remit — meeting clients, presenting research solutions, and attending events across the UK.
