Learning Mentor (SEMH & Reintegration)
Location: Tiptree, Essex | Contract: Full-Time | Start Date: September 2026 | Pay: £105 - £130 per day

We are working with a specialist education provision in Tiptree to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Learning Mentor to join their team from September 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity for experienced Learning Mentors, Pastoral Support Workers, Youth Workers, Teaching Assistants, Support Workers, or graduates looking to make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people who are currently unable to access mainstream education due to medical needs and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

Specialist setting supporting pupils with additional needs

Based in Tiptree, Essex, with outreach support delivered across a variety of settings

The Role

Provide tailored one-to-one support for KS3 and KS4 pupils who are unable to access mainstream education

Deliver mentoring sessions in homes, schools, community settings, libraries, and other appropriate environments

Support pupils in overcoming barriers to attendance, engagement, and learning

Facilitate successful reintegration into mainstream or specialist educational settings

Build positive relationships that promote confidence, resilience, and self-esteem

Work closely with schools, SENCOs, parents, carers, and external agencies

Attend and contribute to multi‐agency meetings and reviews

Maintain accurate records of pupil engagement, attendance, and progress

Support the implementation of trauma-informed and restorative approaches to meet individual pupil needs

The Ideal Candidate

Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs, SEND, or barriers to education

Previous experience as a Learning Mentor, Behaviour Mentor, Pastoral Support Worker, Youth Worker, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, or similar role

Graduates with relevant experience and a passion for supporting vulnerable young people are encouraged to apply

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Patient, resilient, and proactive approach

Understanding of trauma-informed practice is desirable

Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance is essential
