We’re currently recruiting for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a well-established and growing engineering company based in Bedford, known for delivering high-quality, bespoke engineering solutions to prestigious clients across the automotive and high-performance sectors, including brands such as Lotus and Bentley. This is an excellent opportunity to work on interesting, one-off builds and complex assemblies within a clean, modern workshop environment.
The Role:
- Assembly of bespoke mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment
- Working from detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Building precision components and sub-assemblies
- Involvement in special purpose machinery and automated systems
- Mechanical fitting, drilling, tapping, and general bench work
- Supporting testing and commissioning where required
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter / Assembly Technician
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong hands-on mechanical assembly skills
- Experience with precision engineering or bespoke machinery
- Background in automotive, aerospace, or similar industries (desirable)
- Good attention to detail and quality standards
