The Qualifying Supervisor (QS) is responsible for supporting the electrical engineering team to ensure all inspection and testing activities are carried out, recorded, and certified correctly in line with current British Standards and NICEIC requirements. The role plays a key part in maintaining high standards of compliance, quality, and professionalism across the Electrical Division.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the continuous improvement of service quality and professional standards within the Electrical Division.
- Implement, maintain, and monitor systems to ensure the highest technical and administrative standards are achieved.
- Ensure all day-to-day working practices comply with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and accreditation body standards.
- Maintain the ongoing accuracy, calibration, and usability of electrical test equipment.
- Assist senior management with technical queries from engineers and clients where required.
- Carry out post-audit inspections and certification reviews on completed electrical works.
- Review monitoring reports and technical inspections of field-based engineers completed by technical management staff.
- Support compliance readiness for internal and external audits.
- Promote best practice and consistency across inspection, testing, and certification processes.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of NICEIC compliance and accreditation requirements.
- Solid experience within the electrical industry.
- Minimum Level 3 Electrical Qualification.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- In-depth understanding of IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- Extensive knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations, Codes of Practice, and relevant guidance documents.
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical and organised approach.
- Confident communicator, able to provide technical guidance to engineers and stakeholders.
