Reporting to: National Hire & Sales Manager.
Salary: £36k.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (flexible between 07:00 - 18:00). Additional hours may be required to fulfil the needs of the role.
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the Hire Desk team to support hire operations nationwide.
- Manage the day-to-day activity of a hire department, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Oversee all aspects of short-term hire including scheduling, customer communication, transport bookings, quotations, and invoicing.
- Lead and support the team to ensure all hire administration is accurate and completed on time.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, identifying cross-hire opportunities.
- Develop strong customer relationships and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Take ownership of day-to-day operational challenges.
- Work closely with Service and Sales teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Ensure compliance with internal CRM systems and support ongoing process improvements.
- Develop, mentor, and support team members to achieve business objectives and KPIs.
About You:
- Extensive knowledge and experience within forklifts, materials handling equipment, or plant hire.
- A proactive and customer-focused approach.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both telephone and face-to-face.
- Experience using Microsoft 365 and ERP/CRM systems (e.g. Protean).
- Proven experience managing a team.
- Previous experience within the materials handling service or hire industry (essential).
