Are you looking to start a career in plant engineering and construction equipment maintenance? We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Plant Fitter to join our team and develop the skills required to become a qualified Plant Fitter. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in mechanics, engineering, and heavy plant equipment to gain valuable practical experience while working towards a recognised industry qualification.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you will receive structured training and hands-on exposure to the servicing, maintenance, fault finding, and repair of a wide range of construction plant and machinery.
The Role
As a Plant Fitter, you will support engineers across workshop and site environments, learning how to maintain and repair equipment including:
- Pumps
- Generators
- Compaction equipment
- Specialist construction plant machinery
Your training will include:
- Routine servicing and preventative maintenance
- Mechanical fault finding and diagnostics
- Hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems
- Diesel and petrol engines
- Braking, steering, and transmission systems
- Welding and fabrication
- Machine inspections and testing
- Safe working practices and Health & Safety procedures
- Use of modern diagnostic equipment
