12 HOUR DAYS NO NIGHTS 4 DAYS ON 4 DAYS OFF MUST BE MULTI SKILLED 70/30 ELECTRICAL (bias) AND MECHANICAL

Responsible to: Engineering Manager (Production Manager in his absence)

Responsible for:

  • Providing a Safe & Healthy Working Environment
  • Maintaining all Plant Assets to highest standards

Purpose of Role

To maintain company assets to the highest standards at all times. To ensure the safe, efficient and effective repair of plant / production breakdowns and assist production with engineering issues when and where required.

Duties and Responsibilities

Production
  • Ensures PPMs are completed as per the PPM schedules and outlined by the Engineering Manager. All documentation and information relating to the PPMs must be correct and up-to-date at all times.
  • Work through engineering jobs list provided by the Engineering Manager.
  • React to any plant/production breakdowns with urgency. If more than one breakdown occurs, work through as prioritised by Engineering Manager or Shift Supervisor.
  • Minimise cost where possible by ensuring efficient use of all production consumables.
Health and Safety
  • Ensure SWPs are adhered to at all times and ensure any problems are reported to the Site Manager, Engineering Manager and Compliance Manager promptly.
  • Ensure correct PPE is being used at all times, immediately informing the Engineering Manager of any requirements.
  • Ensures housekeeping is at the highest standards at all times and promotes a clean as you go policy within the department.
Communication
  • Ensure shift changeovers are managed to ensure continuity of production, any site issues / breakdowns are communicated, shift reports to be filled out and emailed to engineering and production management at the end of each shift.
  • Inform Engineering Manager of any issues you require addressed with priority.
  • Communicate to the Engineering Manager where critical spares need ordered or day to day spares are required.
  • Communicate to the Engineering Manager or Shift Supervisor when there may be issues with resolving production breakdowns.
Personnel
  • Be proactive in promoting the company to all employees and report any incidents or disagreements affecting the morale of the workforce to the Production Manager / Engineering Manager.
  • Promote effective communication between all employees.
General
  • To comply with all company rules, regulations and procedures at all times and promote good working practices throughout the workforce.
