Overview
We are currently recruiting for a reliable and detail-oriented Goods In Operative to join a busy and fast-paced environment. This role involves physical work and manual handling, so candidates must be comfortable with heavy lifting. It’s a great opportunity for someone with warehouse or manufacturing experience to support operations and ensure the smooth flow of materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Receiving and Inspection
- Receive deliveries of materials and check against delivery notes
- Inspect goods for damage, quality, and quantity
- Report discrepancies promptly
- Accurately label and book in stock
- Picking and Packing
- Pick materials and components in line with work orders
- Ensure high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Pack items safely for dispatch or internal use
- Carry out manual handling and heavy lifting as part of daily duties
- Stock Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records
- Assist with stock counts and cycle checks
- Keep storage areas organised and efficient
- Health and Safety
- Operate warehouse equipment safely (training provided if required)
- Follow all site health and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a goods in, warehouse, or manufacturing role
- Familiarity with picking lists, delivery notes, and stock systems
- Strong attention to detail
- Good understanding of health and safety
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and heavy lifting
