This is a site‑based role with a reputable family owned business based on the Norfolk/Cambridgeshire border. This is more than a leadership role. The Opportunity

As Head of Operations, you will take ownership of the entire operational lifecycle—from initial estimation through to final delivery on‑site. You’ll lead multiple functions including Production, Supply Chain, Project Management, Logistics, and Warehousing, ensuring seamless coordination and exceptional output. With a strong organisational focus on “Right First Time”, you’ll play a critical role in embedding quality, accountability, and efficiency at every stage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement operational strategies that enhance productivity, efficiency, and profitability
  • End‑to‑End Oversight: Ensure smooth execution across all production and delivery processes
  • Team Development: Lead, coach, and inspire a high‑performing, multi‑disciplinary operations team
  • Performance & KPIs: Establish and monitor metrics to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Resource Optimisation: Maximise utilisation of people, materials, and equipment while reducing costs
  • Health & Safety: Champion a safe, compliant, and high‑standard working environment
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with commercial, finance, and project teams to align operations with business goals
  • Customer Engagement: Support client interactions, ensuring delivery meets expectations and strengthens relationships
  • Executive Contribution: Play a key role within the senior leadership team, contributing to strategic decisions and board reporting

  • Proven experience in a senior operations leadership role within manufacturing/Construction/Engineering or similar (Candidates from solely a Food Manufacturing background will not be considered)
  • Engineering qualifications would be advantageous

  • Deep understanding of production processes, quality control, and supply chain operations
  • Exceptional leadership and people development skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into action
  • Confident communicator, capable of influencing at all levels
