Crane Technician (Lorry Mounted Cranes)

Location: UK, National Travel

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 Basic (OTE £60,000+), Overtime paid @ 1.5x

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with overtime available

The Role

As a Crane Technician, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, inspection, and repair of HMF and PM lorry-mounted cranes at customer sites throughout the UK.

This role would suit a technician with experience in cranes, hydraulics, lifting equipment, plant machinery, commercial vehicles, agricultural equipment, or other heavy engineering sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HMF and PM cranes
  • Diagnose and rectify hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical faults
  • Conduct LOLER inspections, testing, and certification work
  • Manufacture, repair, and replace hydraulic hoses
  • Attend breakdowns and provide effective on-site support
  • Complete inspections and service documentation accurately
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with industry standards
  • Deliver a professional service while maintaining strong customer relationships

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working on truck-mounted cranes, hydraulic equipment, plant machinery, commercial vehicles, or lifting equipment
  • Strong hydraulic fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Good mechanical and electrical knowledge
  • Ability to work independently in a field service environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Positive and professional approach to customer service

Desirable Qualifications

  • ALLMI Certification
  • Operator Certification
  • Thorough Examiner Certification
  • LOLER Inspection experience
  • Manufacturer training on HMF, PM, Palfinger, Fassi, Atlas, or similar equipment
