I am working with a well-established business in Corby who have a rare opening for a Duty Supervisor to join their expanding team, on the nightshift. The Duty Supervisor is a pivotal role within the wider team therefore, to be considered you should have proven experience in a similar role, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience.

Job Purpose

The Duty Supervisor is responsible for overseeing production activities during night & weekend shifts, ensuring production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, and in line with food safety and company standards. Acting as the Responsible Person (RP) on shift, the role supports staffing, health and safety, compliance, and production performance while maintaining audit-ready standards across the factory.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead by example.
  • Be proactive in organising the factory.
  • Support the smooth running of production.
  • Communicate production performance, staffing issues, and operational concerns to management teams and elevate as necessary.
  • Oversee the running of the shift by checking with the L3/Team Leaders on shift, their output and support in the organising of the team to maximise efficiency and productivity according to the production plan, always with a mind on safety.
  • Ensure the L3/Team Leaders are organised & reducing scrap and down time through effective planning ahead.
  • Ensure all standard operating procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure operators are completing their work to their best ability and support where necessary.
  • Support audit readiness by ensuring records are completed and standards maintained throughout shift operations.
  • Ensure BRCGS procedures and factory standards are always followed, and all staff follow PPE, hygiene, and safe working procedures.
  • Ensure quality control is maintained throughout the shift.
  • Ensure samples are taken and all QC paperwork is filled out correctly.
  • Promote safe working practices across all areas.
  • Carry out routine health and safety checks throughout the shift.
  • Report and investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.
  • Challenge unsafe behaviours and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Act as a First Aider and Fire Marshall.
  • Report any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Ensure the production area is tidy and kept in a professional manner following the highest BRCGS standards.
  • Must follow and comply with all company, Health & Safety, HR and factory policies and procedures.
  • Attend any training provided to you whether individually or collectively.
  • Carry out any other reasonable requests.

  • Previous experience supervising teams within manufacturing environment preferable.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
