Highways / Construction Operative – HGV Class 2 Location: Weston-Super-Mare Salary: £27500 - £34700 (depending on experience) Job Type: Full-time, Temp to perm We are currently looking for an experienced Highways / Construction Operative with an HGV Class 2 licence to join our busy Highways Division based in Sandford. Working as part of a 2–3 person team, you will carry out a range of highways maintenance and construction works across the local area. Key Responsibilities Kerbing and general highways works Hot and cold lay patching Erecting and dismantling fencing Erecting, removing and maintaining road signage General highways maintenance and construction duties Driving and operating HGV Class 2 vehicles as required Working safely and effectively as part of a small team Maintaining high standards of workmanship and site safety Participating in the Winter Maintenance On-Call Team during the winter season Requirements Full HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence – essential NRSWA qualification – essential Previous experience in highways, construction or road maintenance Good understanding of health and safety requirements Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Flexible approach to working hours, particularly during the winter season What We Offer Full-time, temp to perm position Regular and varied highways work Opportunities for additional hours during winter maintenance Training and development opportunities Supportive and experienced team environment If you have HGV Class 2, NRSWA and highways experience and are looking for a secure, hands-on role with a varied workload, we would like to hear from you.
