We are currently recruiting an experienced and reliable 7.5 tonne driver to join a busy environmental services team collecting food waste bins across the Cambridge area. This is an early-start role, ideal for someone who prefers finishing their working day early afternoon.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for driving a 7.5T vehicle as part of a two-person or multi-person crew, working alongside a team of loaders. Your route will involve collecting commercial and residential food waste bins from designated areas and ensuring safe, efficient, and timely completion of daily rounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving a 7.5T refuse collection vehicle safely and responsibly
  • Working with a team of loaders collecting food waste bins
  • Completing scheduled routes across Cambridge and nearby towns/villages
  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
  • Ensuring all collections are completed to a high standard
  • Adhering to health & safety procedures at all times
  • Maintaining professional interaction with members of the public and site staff when required

Requirements

  • Valid UK Category C1 (7.5T) driving licence
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
  • Previous experience in refuse, recycling, or multi-drop driving preferred (not essential)
  • Good level of physical fitness (due to assisting when required)
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work early morning shifts
  • Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
