Interaction Recruitment are looking for a Chef de Partie to work in a prestigious school in Cambridge, CB2 area. We are looking for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our busy and friendly school catering team. Working alongside a team of 6 chefs and 8–10 kitchen assistants, you will help prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for approximately 1,300 pupils each day. This is an excellent opportunity for a chef who enjoys working in a structured environment with sociable hours and takes pride in delivering great food for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and carry out daily food preparation.
- Assist with the cooking and service of meals for around 1,200 pupils.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and portion control.
- Follow food hygiene, allergen and health & safety procedures at all times.
- Work efficiently as part of a large, supportive kitchen team.
- Help with kitchen cleaning and organisation as required.
Working Hours
Predominantly Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, 45.8 weeks of the year. Your time off is most likely to be Christmas, Easter, Half Terms and most of the summer break. Overtime is paid over 40h per week, with enhancement of time and half after 18:00 and Saturdays, however Saturdays may be required only for special school occasions.
About You
- Previous experience working as a Chef de Partie or similar role within a school catering environment.
- Excellent food preparation and knife skills.
- The ability to work calmly and efficiently in a high-volume kitchen.
- A positive attitude and strong team-working skills.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and food safety standards.
- An Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one before employment).
