Interaction Recruitment is recruiting for an experienced Hire Desk Manager to join a well-established and growing business within the materials handling and hire sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in forklifts, plant hire, or materials handling equipment who enjoys leading a team, building customer relationships, and running a fast-paced hire operation. The Role
As Hire Desk Manager, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the hire department, ensuring a smooth and efficient service for customers across the UK. You’ll work closely with the Hire Desk, Service, and Sales teams while leading and supporting your own team to deliver exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing daily hire operations from enquiry through to invoicing
- Leading and supporting the Hire Desk team
- Coordinating transport, scheduling, quotations, and customer communication
- Building strong customer and supplier relationships
- Identifying cross-hire opportunities and improving operational efficiency
- Resolving customer queries quickly and professionally
- Ensuring CRM/ERP systems are kept accurate and up to date
- Supporting and developing team members to achieve KPIs and business goals
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience within forklift, plant hire, or materials handling
- Proven team management or supervisory experience
- Strong organisational and customer service skills
- Confident communicator with a proactive attitude
- Experience using Microsoft 365 and CRM/ERP systems
- Ability to thrive in a busy operational environment
