Our client, a well-established and highly regarded organisation, is seeking a Stock Control Operative to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a key role within the business, responsible for ensuring stock accuracy, supporting warehouse operations, and maintaining high standards across all stock control activities.

The Role

As the Stock Control Operative, you will take full ownership of stock control processes, ensuring continuity and operational efficiency. You will play a vital part in maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting production needs, and identifying opportunities for improvement within existing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for all stock control activities across the site
  • Maintain accurate stock records across systems and physical locations
  • Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts, investigating and resolving discrepancies
  • Manage goods-in processes, including receiving, inspecting, and recording deliveries
  • Coordinate goods-out activities such as picking, packing, and dispatching orders
  • Operate forklifts safely to transport stock within the warehouse
  • Ensure materials are stored safely and correctly in designated areas
  • Support production and operations teams by ensuring timely availability of stock, consumables, and packaging
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or excess stock
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant working environment
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures at all times
  • Collaborate with purchasing and operations teams to support effective stock planning

About You

  • Valid forklift licence (essential)
  • Previous experience in stock control or a warehouse environment
