Our client, a commercial removals company based in the Bothwell area of Strathclyde, is currently looking for experienced Warehouse and removal porters to work on an ongoing basis. With this position, you will be assisting and supporting in the warehouse/out in the field, dealing with loading and unloading of commercial goods and effects, including the lifting of office and commercial furniture and boxes from containers or vehicles.
Key Tasks
- Ensure all customers’ personal effects are packed and handled correctly, and that goods received into the warehouse are stored safely.
- Wrap personal effects to the required standard and pack into bespoke crates or cases when necessary.
- Carry out all work in a safe and timely fashion.
- For export relocations, correctly label all personal effects before leaving the residence or warehouse, and complete all necessary paperwork before returning to the office.
- Accurately record the condition of goods when collected or delivered, and detail all items on inventories.
- Load and unload vehicles correctly.
- Assist with loading and unloading of storage containers.
- Maintain a clean and tidy working environment, including the yard area, and dispose of packaging debris safely.
- Keep vehicles clean and tidy, and fold transit blankets correctly for placement in containers or vehicles.
Skills & Experience
- Reasonably fit, as lifting of commercial goods and personal effects will be required.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willing to learn all aspects of the business.
- Attention to detail.
- Good customer focus and service orientation.
