About the role:
- Firstly, a DHL theory test and if successful a full driving assessment followed the next available day a full DHL induction.
- 06:00 start of day, with the route normally being planned for an 11:00 hour day.
- Between 15 to 20 drops per day with items up to 79kgs, white goods and home furnishing delivered to the room of choice with unpacking options available for white goods.
- The role is physical and demanding but this is a 2-man crew operation with lifting aids supplied.
- Items are to be transhipped from the back of the delivery box onto the van in drop order by the driver and his porter/mate.
- If all drops are not placed on the van initially, they will return to site, collect the remaining drops, and go back out to deliver them.
- There may be times when the van crew will be asked to assist the 7.5T crews in the event of breakdowns and heavy traffic.
- The role is customer service focused, so the crew must always be polite and professional, and all customers will receive a 1-hour pre-call to inform them of their delivery time.
