We’re currently recruiting for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join a well‑established and growing engineering company based in Bedford, known for delivering high‑quality, bespoke engineering solutions to prestigious clients across the automotive and high‑performance sectors, including brands such as Lotus and Bentley. This is an excellent opportunity to work on interesting, one‑off builds and complex assemblies within a clean, modern workshop environment.
The Role
- Assembly of bespoke mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment
- Working from detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Building precision components and sub‑assemblies
- Involvement in special purpose machinery and automated systems
- Mechanical fitting, drilling, tapping, and general bench work
- Supporting testing and commissioning where required
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter / Assembly Technician
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong hands‑on mechanical assembly skills
- Experience with precision engineering or bespoke machinery
- Background in automotive, aerospace, or similar industries (desirable)
