About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Stores / Warehouse Operative to join a busy and growing team. This is a varied role that combines warehouse duties, stock control, goods-in operations and forklift work. The successful candidate will be working both independently and as part of a team, helping to ensure the efficient movement of goods throughout the warehouse while maintaining high standards of accuracy, organisation, and safety. This role is ideal for an upbeat, self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and processing incoming and outgoing deliveries
  • Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently
  • Picking and packing customer and contract orders accurately
  • Loading and unloading vehicles
  • Carrying out stock control duties and stock takes
  • Maintaining accurate records using company software (training provided)
  • Performing quality checks on outgoing goods
  • Organising and maintaining warehouse storage areas
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
  • Supporting colleagues and assisting other departments when required
  • Working to company productivity and performance targets

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

  • Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence
  • Own transport
  • Good numeracy and communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Good level of physical fitness and mobility
  • Reliable and dependable approach to work
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Desirable:

  • Previous warehouse or stores experience
  • Experience using stock control or warehouse management systems
  • Good computer skills
  • Previous experience carrying out stock takes

Physical Requirements:

This role involves regular manual handling duties, including:

  • Lifting and carrying products
  • Bending, stretching and reaching
  • Loading and unloading stock
  • Standing and walking for extended periods

Applicants should be comfortable working in a physically active warehouse environment while following health and safety procedures.
