Job Description
Cook – Traditional Pub Kitchen Location: Wellington
Pay: £14.00–£14.50 per hour (depending on experience)We're looking for a reliable and passionate Cook to take ownership of the kitchen in our welcoming traditional pub in Wellington.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys preparing quality home-cooked food and takes pride in delivering great food in a friendly pub environment.
What you'll be doing Preparing and cooking a traditional pub menu, including popular Sunday roasts.
Taking ownership of the day-to-day running of the kitchen.
Ensuring all food is prepared and presented to a high standard.
Labelling food correctly and maintaining food safety records.
Completing all required kitchen paperwork and compliance documentation.
Ordering stock and managing inventory levels.
Costing menus to help maintain profitability.
Maintaining a clean, organised, and food-safe kitchen at all times.
Working Pattern You will typically work Wednesday to Sunday , with shift times varying to meet the needs of the business.
Food is currently served during the following hours: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 5:00pm – 9:00pm
Saturday: 12:00pm – 2:30pm
Sunday: 5:00pm – 9:00pm Please note that your shifts may start before service to allow for food preparation and finish after service to complete kitchen close-down duties.
We're looking for someone who: Has previous experience as a Cook or Chef in a pub, restaurant, or similar environment.
Can confidently manage a kitchen independently.
Has a good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
Is organised, reliable, and takes pride in producing quality food.
Has experience with stock ordering and menu costing (preferred but not essential).
