Salary: £50,000 + Car Allowance

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Estimator to join our clients growing civil engineering team based in Bridgwater. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in securing a diverse range of infrastructure and civil engineering projects across the South West. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders, analysing project costs, and supporting the business in winning profitable work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates and tender submissions for civil engineering projects.
  • Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Obtain and analyse quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Produce bills of quantities, cost plans, and pricing schedules.
  • Identify project risks and opportunities during the tender stage.
  • Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Support handover of successful projects to the delivery and commercial teams.
  • Maintain estimating databases and cost information.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an Estimator role within the civil engineering or construction sector.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure, groundworks, highways, drainage, or utility projects.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
  • Full UK driving licence.
