We are recruiting an experienced Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator for a well-established engineering client based in Bedford. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong fabrication skills and experience working with a variety of sheet metal materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication of sheet metal components to engineering drawings
- Cutting, folding, bending, and forming metal using press brakes and hand tools
- Assembly of fabricated parts to specification
- Ensuring high standards of quality and workmanship
- Working safely and maintaining a clean, organised workspace
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience using press brakes, guillotines, folder machines, and hand tools
- Knowledge of working with materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Desirable (but not essential)
- Welding experience (MIG/TIG)
- Apprenticeship or formal engineering qualification
- Experience working in a factory or workshop environment
