I am currently working on behalf of a well-established client who is looking for an experienced
Service Engineer to join their growing team, specialising in automated gates and access control systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong fault-finding skills who enjoys working independently, solving technical problems, and providing a high level of customer service.
You'll be joining a supportive business that values work-life balance, offering no weekend work or evening call-outs as standard.
The Role
As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, repairing, and upgrading a range of automated gate and entry systems across customer sites throughout Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose faults on automated gates and entry systems.
- Carry out planned servicing and reactive breakdown repairs.
- Complete upgrades, replacements, and small installation works.

Essential
- Previous experience within gate automation, automated entry systems, access control, security systems, or a similar engineering role.
- Strong fault-finding and repair skills.
- Good mechanical and electrical knowledge.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to travel to customer sites.
